Under the DPDP Act, 2023, we process personal data based on one or more of the following grounds:
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with trusted parties only to the extent necessary for business operations:
All third parties we work with are required to handle your data responsibly and only for the specific purposes for which it was shared.
When ValueCart processes orders through Amazon and other major marketplaces in India, personal data (such as buyer contact details and delivery addresses) may be shared with us by the respective platform based on the consent already provided by the buyer on that platform.
We use such data strictly for order fulfilment, delivery coordination, and related operational purposes. We do not use marketplace-provided data for any other purpose or share it beyond what is necessary.
We take data security seriously and have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, misuse, loss, or alteration. Our security practices include:
Security incident response. We maintain an incident-response process to detect, investigate, contain and remediate security incidents. If a security incident involves information originating from a marketplace or its customers or sellers, we will notify the affected platform without undue delay. For any security incident involving Amazon Information, we will report it to security@amazon.com promptly on becoming aware of it. Where required, we will also notify affected individuals and the Data Protection Board of India in accordance with the DPDP Act, 2023.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or as required under applicable law (for example, tax and financial records required to be maintained for statutory periods).
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data, such as statutory financial records, contractual data, and operational data. Once the retention period expires, personal data is securely deleted or anonymised so that it can no longer identify you. You may also request deletion of your data at any time — please see Section 10 for your rights.
Marketplace order data. Personal data we receive to fulfil marketplace orders (such as buyer names, contact details and delivery addresses) is deleted or anonymised within 30 days of order delivery, except where we are required to retain specific records to meet legal, tax or regulatory obligations — for example, tax invoices and financial records maintained under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) law of India (retained for 72 months from the due date of the relevant annual return) and the Companies Act, 2013 (books of account retained for up to 8 years). Such retained records are limited to what the law requires and are securely deleted once the applicable statutory period expires.
